Cats don’t sweat like humans do to beat the heat. But they have their own set of tricks to keep themselves cool:

Here are some ways you can help your feline friend stay comfortable during hot weather:
- Hydration is Key: Ensure your cat has access to plenty of fresh, cool water. You can even add ice cubes to their bowl to refresh it.
- Shady Spots: Provide cool areas for your cat to relax in. It could be a basement floor, a bathroom with cool tile, or a shaded spot outdoors under a tree or bush. You could also lower blinds or curtains in sunny rooms and place your cat’s bed in a shaded area with good air circulation.
- Cooling Mats: These pressure-activated mats can provide a comfortable and excellent relaxing spot for your cat.

- Airflow: Keeping air circulation going with fans (aimed away from directly blowing on the cat) can help create a cool breeze.
- Grooming: Regular brushing helps remove excess fur, which can trap heat.

Be aware of signs your cat might be overheating.
If you notice these signs: excessive panting, lethargy, glazed eyes, or vomiting, move your cat to a cool place, offer water, and dampen its fur with a cool cloth. If its symptoms are severe, take it to the vet immediately.
